Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Confiteor
I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers and
sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my
words, in what I have done and what I have failed to do; and I ask blessed
Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Gloria
Glory to God in the highest, and peace to
his people on earth. Lord God,
heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only son of the Father,
Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For You alone are the Holy One, You alone are
the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in
the glory of God the Father. Amen
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and
earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by
the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under
Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the
living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic
Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of
the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. And lead
us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours, now and forever. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee; blessed art
thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us
sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the
Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be
for ever. Amen.
Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You and I
detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains
of hell, but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all
good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of
your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the occasions of sin. Amen.

Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, fill me with love.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds, hide me.
Never let me be separated from you.
From the evil enemy, protect me.
At the hour of my death, call me
And tell me to come to you,
That with your saints I may be,
Praising you through all eternity. Amen.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy!
Hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve!
To you do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in
this vale of tears!
Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward
us.
And after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of
your womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

come; before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your
mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

The Holy
Rosary
How
to Pray the Rosary
The rosary is a set of meditative prayers.
The rosary may be offered to God for a
particular intention. The Mysteries
of the Rosary are meant to provide a focus for the prayers of the
rosary. They are important events in the
history of salvation in the life of Jesus and Mary.
Meditation on these mysteries can help to
thank and praise God for these wonderful events.
Meditation may also be on the particular
intention.
- Begin
with the Sign of the Cross while holding the Crucifix of the
rosary: “In the Name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Pray the Apostles’ Creed:
“I believe in God . . . “
- On the next (large) bead, pray the Our Father.
- On each of the next three (small) beads, pray the Hail Mary while meditating on the three divine virtues of faith, hope, and love.
- On the next single bead pray the Glory be, announce the first mystery (see below) and pray the Our Father.
- The next set of ten small beads to the right of the medal is called the first decade. Pray one Hail Mary on each bead while contemplating the first mystery.
- On the next single bead, pray the Glory be and the Fatima Prayer “O
my Jesus, forgive us of our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all
souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy. Amen.”
- On the same bead begin the next decade by announcing the second mystery and pray the Our Father.
- Continue as before, praying ten Hail Marys , the Glory be and Fatima Prayer for each of the remaining decades.
- A single set of five decades (once around the rosary) is known as a chaplet.
- You may continue with a total of three chaplets for a complete rosary or end after the first chaplet.
- When you end, pray the Salve Regina or “Hail Holy Queen . . . “ and finish with the Sign of the Cross with the Crucifix.
Mysteries of the Rosary

- The Presentation: Mary and Joseph present Jesus in the Temple where they meet Simeon. For the virtue of obedience.
- The Finding in the Temple: After losing Him, Mary and Joseph find young Jesus teaching the Rabbis in the Temple For the virtue of piety.
The Five Sorrowful Mysteries

The Five Mysteries of Light
- The Baptism of Jesus: As Christ descends into the
waters of the Jordan, the innocent one who became "sin"
for our sake, the heavens open wide and the voice of the Father declares
him the beloved Son, while the Spirit descends on him to invest him
with the mission which he is to carry out.
- The Wedding of Cana: Through this first of his
miraculous signs, Jesus reveals his glory, and his disciples put their
faith in him. Christ changes water into wine and opens the hearts
of the disciples to faith, thanks to the intervention of Mary, the
first among believers.
- The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God: The preaching
by which Jesus proclaims the coming of the Kingdom of God calls to
conversion and forgives the sins of all who draw near to him in humble
trust.
- The Transfiguration: The glory of God shines forth
from the face of Christ as the Father commands the astonished Apostles
to "listen to him" and to prepare to experience with him
the agony of the Passion, so as to come with him to the joy of the
Resurrection and a life transfigured by the Holy Spirit.
- The Institution of the Eucharist: Christ offers
his body and blood as food under the signs of bread and wine, and
testifies "to the end" his love for humanity, for whose
salvation he will offer himself in sacrifice.
Magnificat
My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
Because he has regarded the lowliness of his handmaid;
For, behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
Because he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name;
And his mercy is from generation to generation on those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm, He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has given help to Israel , his servant, mindful of his mercy-
Even as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his posterity forever.
